Iraq. Iran. Saudi Arabia. China. These countries dominate our headlines right now. We hear about the war and terrorism in Iraq. We listen anxiously to the threat of nuclear war with Iran. We’re nervous about the price of oil that Saudi Arabia supplies to us. We’re flooded with images of protests, oppression and earthquakes. But God is telling a different story.
During June, our team of 6 Bridges Staff and 5 American students have joined 5 British Campus Staff and 20 British students to reach the nations in Birmingham, England, for God has brought nearly every nation to the UK.
God provided a wonderful opportunity for Zack and I (Naomi) to do ministry together. Zack was home sick on the day that I had invited a Chinese woman named May over for tea. May’s English was not very good, but Zack’s Chinese really put her at ease. We found out that May and her husband Sam have been attending a Chinese church in Birmingham. She wanted to believe in God, but was struggling with the atheistic worldview that she was taught in China.
She had never read the Bible on her own before, but sent me this email recently: “I had many questions about the God before I met you. You answered all of them. Every day I read 2 or 3 pages of Bible. I like reading the Bible and can feel the peace in my heart every day. In the bottom of my heart, I nearly believe in God now.”
